The Stomping Grounds
The Stomping Grounds is a hometown entertainment district located in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. I was tasked to create an entertainment district to be all inclusive. The Stomping Grounds offers something for all people of all ages, with thought given to children and specialty events. I selected the name The Stomping Grounds as reference to cattle ranches of the south. I think the name fits perfectly for a place people can come and gather. The color palette is western themed with oranges, browns, and green. The font that I selected for the logo is western styled and fits the theme. This font is used in the simple logo of the name surrounded by a lasso rope. The entry gates at all entrances are typical style ranch gates to welcome all visitors. The main anchor for the district is Tumbleweeds, a restaurant/bar/music venue. Again, the name of the restaurant evokes the southwest energy. Advertisements for The Stomping Grounds features photos of what the area has to offer: water park, shopping, restaurant, and music venue. For this project we were asked to create the brand identity as well as additional assets. Some of these assets include Instagram posts, a billboard, magazine ad, newspaper ad, flyer, bus wrap, and a postcard. Overall, I really liked the outcome of this assignment. This project incorporated brand identity, physical assets, and a digital experience.
